Has anyone come up with a way to fix that horrible rearend squeal you get when you take hard left hand turns?

Funny that someone else has the same problem. I've had the car for 4 years no problems... until this winter.

Will be checking out the brakes when I switch to summer tires.

Anyone have an idea of what to could be?

I had the same noise. I changed the fluid, and all was good. I guess when the fluid gets old the posi starts acting up or something. Try changing your fluid and see if that works. Remember to use the limited slip additive too.

Most 93+ cars use a Auburn Diff, it has no cluches only cones and they will make more of a chatter than a whine.

Acctually what happens is I think the C-clamps start to give, basicly if you jack the car up, you will notice that the wheel will move towards you & away from you a bit, now when you move it towards you, you'll notice that a section of the caliper itself (not the pad) it touching the disk brake & makes groves in it if its bad enough, what I did to compensate on my 93 was I removed the brake caliper bolts (the two sleeve/travel bolts) that hold the caliper on & I put washers in between them & that takes away the slack/play

you sir are WRONG.

Only the Torsen posi does not have clutches, and does not need GM Additive to be added when u change fluids. Auburn Rear has clutches (cone clutches), and DOES need GM Additive when u change the fluid.

If your rear is makin noise when u turn, i would suggest u add some fluid...that should fix it 99%.

bunker is the only right person here...reguarding the squeal!!!

the clips wear out and alow the axle to slide a bit..the axle rubs the calipers and makes the noise... i fixed mine by replacing the rear end

Thanks Bunker. I know its a caliper problem and not a diff issue.

I broke one of the Energy Suspension front swaybar mounts "just driving". They asked me to return the broken part when they sent a new one. Guess they weren't made tough enough for people to throw their car sideways through a turn

It looks like it might be scrapping the front outer portion of the rotor on both sides. Does this need to be done on both rear calipers?

Also, you are talking about the outer most caliper bolts (with rubber boots), not the ones that mount it to the axle, right?

And last, how many washers does it take, one on each bolt? These go by the head of the bolt, not somewhere inbetween, right?

Ummmm, I didn't say a Auburn wouldn't need Additive.
