on my 95 could I remove the OBD II connector and wire in a OBD I

No reason you couldn't replace the 16-pin connector with a 12-pin. There are only about 4 wires involved. Or, you could just get an adapter cable from AKM Electronics.

I am trying to use the scanner I have now due to the fact I cannot find a obdI scanner with a II plug

Make some little jumpers for your scanner plug to connect like this and you are all set.

My scanner is a sunpro cp9001 and it looks nothing like the one in the picture. It has three terminal and in a different configuration. any ideas?

It is the connector that you are trying to adapt. It does not matter what scanner it is. The connector to the DLC is the same.

Your scanner must use the two terminals to read the pcm.
