Hooker long tubes Left #1 primary

I bought a set of hookers super comp long tubes ceramic coated and when i opened them o noticed thta the number one primary on the drivers' side isnt connected to the flange that bolts the the head and will come completely off the rest of the header. I assume that this is made this way but after i install them, do i need to weld this? Im sure some of you have run into this. Thanks

Heh... That is normal, if you welded that piece the headers would never come out of the car. It is necissary to be able to install them.

If it is a tight fit it shouldn't leak.It seems some are tight and some loose. If it is loose you can buy a T-bolt clamp.Summit Racing sell them I think for around $7.Good luck.

dont weld it man that part is intentionally like that so you can get the header around your steering arm. shouldn't leak once you heat cycle them a couple of times.

On the past 3 cars I have installed Hooker's on we have used hitemp RTV on the slip fit and have never had a leak out of any of the cars. No need to weld or clamp, it's usually a really tight fit, and after the heat cycles there's no way it leaks

mine would slide in and out with ease, after the RTV and starting it up there are no signs of leak..

don't worry so much
