after new opti install

I finally installed my opti correctly this time, with all the problems i have been having with my vent tubes and timing and stuff. But today when i first firred up the car and it reved fine for a minute but after it was running for a little bit i give it some throttle and it would sputter or hesitate around 2k and then it would level out with more rpms. The wirres are on right and i think every thing is good but my intake boot from the mass air sensor to tb is kinda mangled and i think it might have a hole in it but im not FOR SURE. Would that cause this sputtering or would that be an iginition thing? it has a new coil, ignition moduel and opti. the intake tubbing is from my 89 iroc since this engine is in my iroc. Thanks for the help.

Bobby

A torn intake bellows will allow unmetered air to enter the engine and cause a host of problems. There's a good chance that that is the cause of your problems.

Maybe, but I doubt it...

My intake elbow was torn on the bottom where I couldn' t see it and I never had a clue until the next time I took it off. I'd bet you still have an ignition issue...

Its probably the worn n torn elbow, it will make a difference, especially with just redoin the opti, the computer has to relearn its settings and with the torn elbow it would be all screwy.....

What do you guys think about the vortech intake elbow? I need a new one as well and was thinking the 1LE but when it gets old it will crack too. Any problems with the metal one? It cant make too much of a heat difference can it?
