Lt4 swap problem

Anyone on here ever done an lt4 hotcam kit and had security problems when it was back together?mine will start when fuel is put in the intake and runs for maybe 5 seconds then shuts off. Pump is running and I have spark. Security light comes on intermittently. Engine was out of the car for about a month. Thanks for any ideas, chris

There is nothing in using an LT4 HOT cam that will cause the "SECURITY" light to come on.

Does the light come on steady, or flash? You indicate it comes on intermittently.... under what conditions?

I realize the CAM won't cause security problems, but what about the battery being not hooked up for nearly a month?

Intermittently as in sometimes I turn the key and it comes on, other times it does not.

Thanks

You said that your pump is running, but are your injectors pulsing? Check the injector fuses also just in case.

That should not have anything to do with it. Sounds like the common key pellet not being able to be read issue. Maybe your key cylinder contacts are a little "rusty" from non-use. Might try some contact cleaner.

Your pump should only run for a couple seconds to prime the system, then shut down. There are certain PCM codes that prevent the fuel system from restarting, including the need for a signal from the PASS key system, the need for the low resolution pulse signal from the Opti, etc. The fact that the pump runs for a couple seconds when you turn the key to on does not mean its providing fuel to the engine.

I unhook my battery for several months when the car goes into winter storage. That isn't your problem.
