Why do I keep trashing oil pressure senders?

Third one this time around and it only lasted maybe 4 months. The damn thing starts sticking and is barely responsive.
I also have a mechanical gage under the hood and it is verifying that I do have good pressure so this means the OEM sender is trashed.

Is it the white spring in the pump and 70-80 pounds of pressure at cold startup causing these things top pop?
Is there any other aftermarket sender unit I can use that is more robust?

Where are you getting them from? Auto Zone? It makes sense that more pressure would cause problems, but surely we would have heard about it by now. Try another brand, napa or delco
