95 Coolant Fans Problem/Setup

So, as Injuneer just told me, they switched over from 1 fan low / 2nd fan high temperature setup to a dual low/hi setup for both fans. Well that's a bit interesting because on my 95, one of my fans doesn't work, and the other one only comes on at temps above 240. Wouldn't both stop working? And why the hell does it only kick on after 230-240 degrees. This is very curious indeed. Now I'm starting to wonder about the ECT, the PCM, etc etc etc. Injuneer told me it was the 94 that started switching over, so that leads to some interesting implications with my fan problems.

It sounds like one of your fans just isn't functioning correctly. The fans in your car are run in series, so if one fan gets power, the other one does as well. The only reason I can think of for one of your fans working and the other not is that a fan needs replacing. Have you tested the nonfunctioning fan to see if it's any good?
Also your fans should come on low at 226 degrees, not 240. High speed is at 235.

Yeah, so high speed works on one fan, but that same fan DOESN'T have low speed. And then the other fan just doesn't work at all. I'm going to test the bad fan later this week to see if the motor is bad.

95s have low/high speed fans - not primary/secondary.

Lol, yes, we just established that. We're trying to figure out why I only have high on one fan, and nothing on the other.

Study the info and schematics and troubleshoot. That's why I posted the link. If the low speed relay circuit is not working you would only get high speed on the right fan.

Once you understand how the fans work, you will realize they are not that complicated.
