What size Slicks!!!!!

I have decided to give some slicks a whirl. I need to know what size is common and works well for A4 Camaros!!!. I will be buying new rims at the same time so let me know what is working the best as far as sizes go, offsets and exact tire sizes and any additional info as this will be my first time ever using them!!!!!!!!!! Thanks Everyone!!!!!!!!!!

The preferred size would be 255/50/16 as these will fit on stk. whls( a definite plus!)You could also go to 275/40/17 but these are heavier. The tires i run are MT ET street radials, but since we don,t know what your car runs, you might need something like the old style et street/et drag. Both of these will require tubes, etc, different launch technique, etc. The radials are definitely the best i,ve run.

What EXACTLY do you want:
-DOT "slicks"
-full slicks
-Drag Radials???

Used to be for high HP applications, you had to move up to a DOT slick like the ET Street. But today, you can get drag radials that will perform just as well.

What kind of HP are you making?

You can get a 26x10.5-16 ET Street that will fit on the stock wheels. You could get a 26x10.5-15 that would fit on a set of 15x8.0" 5.5" backspace drag wheels. See the "FAQ" for drag tires linked at the top of the forum topic listing for possible complications. You did check the FAQ first..... right???

I doubt you need more than a 26x10.5" tire. You will be limited to a 245/50-16 or 255/50-16 if you go to a drag radial with stock wheels. You shouldn't need tubes in ET Streets. Yes, in ET Drags, but not on ET Streets (even though it says they are tube type tires).

I've run the 26x10.5-15 ET Streets at the 500HP level, capable of running mid 11's and 117MPH. Click on the "Trailer queen...." link in my signature for a set of 28x10.5-15W ET Drags.......
