10.5" with 58MM Offset in REAR? They fit with minimal clearancing?

I know it has been done with 56MM wheels. I read the FAQ's ...

Thanks Injuneer

Has anyone used a wheel of these proportions?

It specs out like this:

10.5"
11.375" Overall Width
58MM Offset
8.02" Backspace

For anyone wondering - I found a set of C5 Z06's local. They are gun metal. Will be powder coated black

My 17x11 50mm offset wheels have a 7.93" backspace. They are the one's used in the FAQ post describing what I had to do to make them fit. You are looking at a wheel with even more backspace, so the tire is going to be even closer (almost 1/10th inch) to the inner fender liner, the lip of the wheel is going to be even deeper over the jounce bumper bracket, etc.

As noted in the FAQ, NOT ALL 4TH GENS ARE EXACTLY THE SAME. Some people claim to have put the same 7.93" backspace wheels on their 4th Gens without doing what I had to do. On the other hand, I have had way less problems with huge QTP 11.5" slicks that someone else with the same wheel and tire had a huge problem.

Directionally, its very likely the 8.02" BS wheels will have slightly more problems than I had with the 7.93" BS wheel. The exact tire you put on it will have an impact as well. Mine are based on 315/35-17 BFG Drag Radials. That is a fairly wide tire, compared to some other 315's.

I assume someone actually measured the overall width and the backspace. The dimensions do not work out exactly, unless the front and rear flanges on the wheel are a different width.

Injuneer,

Thanks ... I really do greatly appreciate all the times you have helped me over the years with this car. Sorry for not catching that in the FAQ. I know it has to suck as a moderator who has taken so much time to write the great write ups you have done only to have them go ignored with people (myself included) posting stupid questions easily answered in there.

Back to the issue - I guess I will pass until I find a deal on Z06's with the proper offset to male the install a little simpler. My car is in excellent shape. So the less I have to cut, grind, roll, etc. the better. I am OK with modding my car. But if I can get away with 315's with minimal work versus a large project, and still use the same style wheels ... why kill myself. I have a hectic enough schedule lol.

As for tires - I will run a 315/30 or 315/35. I have minimal concerns about tire life. Just want the stickiest rubber I can get for (dry) street driving and the occasional drag race day. So I don't want something that will require a killer burnout to get sticky...

Thanks again for everything over the years ...

Joe

I put 315's on my Z28. they were on C6 Z06 replicas 10.5x18 rear with 58mm backspacing. just needed to work the inner fenders over a little with a large hammer. I didnt have to make much room, they fit pretty well.
