help water pump?

help water pump?

whats up guys need help with this, i was in my car for like 30 mins. i came home and parked the car, did not turn it off and open the hood it throwing water all over the place so i looked under the car and water was running down the front of the block behind the crank pully. so i turned the car off and it stoped. not even a min turned it back on and let it run for 15 mins and no water any where. then i reved up the motor alot and no leak what the hell is going on. thanks guys

Sounds like your water pump's bearing is shot.

Depends on the position of the bearing. Our 95 TA did the same thing. Once the pump was off it was apparent.

so how do i find out if thats what it is or not. and what do i need to replace it. also i have a water pump off my othe motor how do i tell if this is still good i can see the bearing is good or not.

Get under the car and check the pump's weep hole. If it has signes of leakage, replace the pump.

well i have a pump and opti that i am going to put on. is there any way to tell if the opti is good with out it being on the car. and to change the pump do i need to drain the water out of everywhere?

I'd find out exactly where the water was coming from before starting to change out parts. If you lost enough water/coolant with the leak, there's a good possibility its not leaking any more because there's no coolant left, or its so low the system won't build any pressure.
