Tell me what this is i broke!


Ok i attached some picture or at least tried to. But its the small metal pipe running from the passengers side header to the silver box which has a tube runnign back out of it. Dunno much about car as you can tell so sorry for the crappy description.

sorry i dunno how to do that but you can clearly see it in the top picture. its the bronze pipe behide the big black tubing. Man I wish i could just circle it or something.

that would be part of the EGR or SMOG tube that comes off the headers.

If you have smog check in your state you need it if you dont have emissions checks chuck it and cap off the headers, you dont need it.

I live in texas and they have us on emissions lock down so i need it. And yes its the AIR I finally found my book to look it up. Now I just got to find a dealership with the part. Any tips on how to get it off cause its stuck like a B****!

Well mark Texas off the states I woud like to live.

Heat it up if you can with out catching anything on fire.

I wouldn't put any sort of serious heat anywhere near that crud covered valve cover....

Since the tube is already damaged, cut it off, move all the stuff you can out of the way, and then put the correct size 6-point socket on the nut. A 12-point, an open end wrench or a crescent wrench are going to simply round the nut off... its very soft.
