I got a really good deal on a 1995 Z28 only $650.00 that needed a Distributor, but the car was 1/2 way taken apart. After spending a good portion of the day putting an Oil pan Gasket, Timing Chain, Cover Gasket/Seals and cleaning the bottom end from sludge trying to do a very nice clean job. I bought an MSD Distributor, Wires and NGK NT55? I believe new from Ebay and put it all back together, with a new Waterpump/Thermostat.

Car fired up but seemed to have a low end misfire, and rough idle. Test driving the car trying to see if it would clear up. I noticed it has trouble accelerating almost like it is choking or a bad TPS, Shift Points seem to go whenever I take my foot off the accelerator. No SES light indicating a hard code at start up and cannot communicate with PCM to check live data. I have a cheapy code checker and Snap-On Solus Pro and neither can communicate with PCM. Fuse 11 Cig/Horn has power; and terminal 16 has power at the DLC.

The car is a 1995 with a OBD2 style connecter. But I read that 1996 was the 1st year for the OBD2. Maybe has other wiring issues. If anyone has had this problem before or any advice. As far as the previous owner information, the Waterpump went to leaking and wiped out the distributor.
