Throttle Stuck open

Luckily there wasnt a lot of traffic and I had a place to pull over. Basically what happened, I wanted to move around a slow car, so I get on it to move around, when i take my foot off I noticed the throttle is hung open. I pop it in neutral and pull in to a left turn median. Get out, move the TB by hand with the car open and it seems fine. Get back in start it up, seems fine. Drive it some more at really light throttle, when i get out again I noticed the floor mat was covering the drivers pedal. I'm thinking that it may have wedged and held the throttle open by not letting the pedal come back when I took my foot off. The TB is a AS&M and I have had it on few a few months, haven't had a single issue and have had it wot a lot of times. Driving the car home I stuck it in the first gear (auto) and let it rap up to red line and let off and the car engine brakes as normal. (Didnt want to get the car wot going very fast in case it did it again). I guess I'll count it a s a fluke

It may have been a fluke but I had that happen to me. I thought the same thing. Then, it happened again. It turned out the throttle cable had broken at the bracket attached to the TB. When it happened to me it scared the Hell outta me!

I have been messing with the throttle butter fly with the car off, holding it open at wot and various other points and letting go, I cant get it to stick open. It;s scary as hell, possibly deadly if you dont act fast enough. Years ago some on here got in to a nasty wreck when his TB stuck open when he was coming to an intersection. The TB it self I bought new and has maybe 200 miles on it at most.
