the optispark is the distributor on our cars
you have the distributor, you have an optical sensor in the distributor and you have a cap and rotor that bolts onto the distributor.
The reason it is call an optispark is cause it has both an optical sensor and cap and rotor (spark) on the distributor.

Shoebox's website has part #'s for most parts, pictures of the critical components, and a link for GM parts well under what a dealer would charge you:

Shoe's website:

If the car runs fine for an hour, something may be overheating. Items that can "break down" when they heat soak include the Ignition Control Module (Shoebox has a method for spacing it off the head to reduce heat soak), the optical sensor in the OptiSpark distributor, and the coil.

If the optical sensor is having problems, the ECM (engine computer) will set trouble codes. Shoebox also has an instruction on how to flash the codes on the SES light on your 93, by shorting a couple pins in the ALDL (computer data link) connector under the dash by your right knee.
