Starting the car w/o Upper Rad Hose

Long story short, I had a busted upper radiator hose (The one that runs into the top of the Waterpump) and jad the car towed home last night. I can't work on the car where the tow truck dropped it off or HOA will have my head. Am I ok starting the car real quick and moving the car 50' feet without that hose? IIRC the Thermostat wouldn't even open that quick anyway.

What I'm worried about is dropping water since the pump will still be pumping water out of the outlet hose into the radiator and out the ripped hose end correct?

Worse comes to worse I just try to wrestle with the lower hose clamp from above and get it on, fill the radiator with just water and do a complete dump/refill in my garage.

I'd empty all the coolant out then go for it. You can run the car for a minute or two w/ no coolant and be fine.

I was also thinking of taking vice grips and pinching the hose before the hole and going for it.

How far do you need to go? I'd just make sure coolant doesnt get on the opti...i.e. tie the hose down to the side of the engine bay and just drive it....who cares if coolant spills anyways.

You should be fine. If you only moving it 50 feet the car wouldnt even be that hot for the thermostat to open
