Need Timing Chain ASAP - Recomened Chain When I Have Electric H20 Pump.

I put off gettin a timing chain until now. Now that I need it I need to make a decision. I went ahead and bought a electric waterpump.. SO, now I need to know what chain to order. I would like it to be direct bolt in, I dont want to modify the cover at all.

Recomendations?

Thanks

I am using comp beehive springs, .600 total lift, Le2 cam.

I used this one from Summit, its good quality, and if you want to go back to the stock water pump you wont have to change it.

wait. I can run that with a waterpump?.. I didnt think there was any strong chains besides that LT4 ED timing chain that will work and still run the waterpump.

I will cancel my order for my waterpump and just buy that.. Is this new?. I always heard people saying that cloyes will require a electric waterpump..

thanks

I was curious if a gear drive setup would fit under the cover?

You're kind of hijacking the thread, but gear drives are noisy and cause knock sensor issues.

I dont mind. I had G2G timing in my 82 camaro and I fell in love with the sound. I would LOVE to run a noisy gear drive, but I value my knock sensors.

They make quiet and noisy gear drive timing systems, it all depends if its a straight or angle cut on the gears.

It was more of a general question, if it would fit you could run just about any timing chain set correct.

That is the stock style chain with the waterpump drive. You should be able to use it with the stock waterpump.

I didn't know Cloyes made one for our cars, good to know!

I used a Cloyes 3145 on mine. It did require a tiny bit of clearancing on the timing cover, but otherwise works great (no wp drive)

I used a Cloyes 3157 on mine. Big ole' rollers and no clearance issues at all. Almost no chain slop like the stock butt link chain.
