Does the car crank at all or is it dead when you turn the key?

I believe the ignition switch is in the steering column.

Does the security light flash when you turn the key? Could be a vatts problem.

Took me about 3 hours taking my time with breaks in between. Not a hard task at all.

Is there anything else i should look at besides ignition switch?????
how about the neutro safty switch.

On the showbox tech page its saysThe most noted and tell-tale symptom I have seen regarding switch failure is that the the gauge cluster goes dead. When it goes dead, the engine dies as well. This is because the ignition switch also powers a section of the pcm necessary for engine function, plus the fuel pump and some other things.)

My car has never cut off and i do have power to the cluster????

Didn't someone have a similar problem recently?

Turned out the water pump was leaking onto something. I don't quite remember.

That person had water leak onto their opti, but if that was the case, the car would still crank.

I'll ask again, does the security light flash?

Never looked, but Neutral Safety switch should be connected to clutch pedal since you can't start it without the clutch being disengaged.

BTW: will it start with a push? Shouldn't take much in 2nd gear to get it started.

I know that you said that the battery has a full charge, but the very first thing I'd suspect would be a bad battery. I never assume that the battery is good, unless it is new and charged up.

Don't assume anything. JMHO

Re: Car dont start

Hate to bring this thread from the dead but I have the exact same problem. Battery is good, new starter...old starter was still ok though. Car won't start...lights, radio, cluster works, security light turns off after 3 seconds like it should. I had to pop the clutch to bring it home so I know the motor is good. I just checked the clutch switch and I am getting 11.5 volts to the switch when I turn the ignition key to the start position. Anything else to check after that? Would the coil cause a no start. It seems like something from the ignition to the starter is not working. I think the ignition is good cause I get a signal to the clutch switch when I put it in the start position. I'm thinking the quickest fix would be wire up a push start straight to the starter...anyone know how to do this on our cars...what wire to tap into etc?

Edit: Checked all fuses under hood and in interior panel as well as the fuse block(?)(red cap under the hood) all looks good no blown fuses.
