I knew all that I just couldn't find a single place that said that they were self aligning or not.

be careful though remember the valves are going to open further so you might want to make sure your not putting to much lift on it with the 1.7s, you dont want a valve kissing a piston top

What would the max lift be you think? I wasn't planning on doing a cam anytime soon. But if I did I'd probably do a BIG one. If need be by then I'll sell the 1.7s for 1.6s.

But what would the max lift be?

The set up I was planning:
10308-1 springs/ret/locks
14011051 gm guideplates
7608-16 pushrods
Maybe a GM 847 cam down the road or CC306

if your on a stock cam then you should be fine but with the 306 or 847 I think you would run into problems. with the 847 your lift would be .611/.633 and the 306 would be .578/.612. You might want to check into it a little before going on just what I said. Im just forewarning you on the possibilities.
