New Rebuild Problems

I just finished a 94 Z rebuild.
It has a 95 - 97 opti. with the longer plug. I went to start it and had a bad coil so i replaced it then a bad ICM so I replaced it then a bad battery and starter so yes I replaced them. I still had no spark, I screwed with the conectors on the fuse and then I got spark, but needed a new fuel pump, got the racetronix setup and now I have fuel but once again no spark. I checked everything for power and I'm getting 12v all over the place, and my grounds are all tight but the ground wires might be corroded, goinig to try and check that today. ANY IDEAS PLEASE HELP!!!

yes the opti is new. The prongs that the fuse plugs into (ignition 10 fuse) were seperated so I wasnt getting a solid connection. I pulled the fuse and tightened up the prongs for a better connection, I tested the power through the fuse and it is at 12v.

Did you check to see if you were getting voltage from the computer to the ICM? It is the white wire at the ICM. Also check for continuity on that wire. The white wire is B5 at the computer. Let us know what you find.

Also check the ground at the ICM as well. Put your positive lead on the positive post of the battery and your negative lead on the black wire at the ICM and check for voltage. If no voltage then that is your problem.

Do you have power at the coil? Spark from the coil? You need to chek that first.

When you say its "a 95 - 97 opti. with the longer plug", does that mean the longer harness connector? Did you change out short Opti harness to the correct connector for the vented Opti?

Sounds to me like something happened during the time of the fp install. Either that or your fuse connection is the culprit.

P.S. I understand your sense of urgency, I really do, but I wouldn't keep posting the same question every hour, you will get scolded.

it turned out to be the ground from the harness along with a battery that needed a kick in the ***. I cleaned off the small gound that comes out near the starter and reinstalled it to the black also I jumped the car considering my battery was starting to turn the motor slower and slower. and old motor head told me that with a brand new setup it takes alot to turn the motor over so if your car is turning slow try to jump it and see if that helps. so in the end it was a ground wire. (WTF)

now an oil leak to deal with... haha it never ends
