Need to replace my lt1

I have a 95 z28 camaro with 101,000 with a bad bearing in the engine. The car looks great inside and out so I would really like to just replace the engine with something similar and keep driving it. I was wondering if anyone new of a good crate engine I could replace it with or should I pay someone to have it rebuilt? Thanks for the help

Are you looking to upgrade for more power or just a stock motor. I would say just a rebuild. Or if u want more just get it rebuilt to a 383 but then you would be spending alot on more mods to flow the motor.

Anything that has to do with an engine rebuild or replacement really has to do with what kind of budget you have to work with.

You are limited to some extent to using an LT1 engine. The PCM in your car is designed to work only with the LT1's Optispark signals. Outfits like Pace Performance sell factory LT1 rebuilds. Others like Golen or Victory Racing will sell you mildly or heavilly upgraded performance LT1 short and long blocks. As noted in the post above, it all depends what your budget is. If all you are doing is looking for a used engine in decent shape, you can get virtually any LT1 engine from a 92-96 Corvette, the 94-96 B-Bodys or 93-97 F-Bodys. In many cases, you would have to swap over certain components like the accessory mounting brackets, exhaust manifolds, fuel rails, etc.
