well I dont recommend this, but I found an old shampoo bottle that fit the hole really tight and just cut it off and tightened it down in there. im sure this is probably not a smart idea but it works fine.

I know you guys are trying to help and thanks but I don't want all the homemade methods, I just want ppl. who has bought or saw one of these and tell me if the plug works or does it slide out all the time even though it has a clamp on it. Gravity will be pulling against it not to mention the vibrations of the motor and I don't want to be going down the rd. and hear a clang where it's fell out.

Your better bet is to buy a 1LE intake elbow. Most stock elbows suffer from damage on the lower portion that seals to the TB.

You can find cheaper sources for the 1LE. GM wholesale price is $53.04. Thunder is selling them for more than GM list price.

Did you try the source listed on Shoebox's "where to buy parts" page?

Just say'n, if there is nothing wrong with your stocker, then why bother to spend money on a replacement. And...since you don't mention that your stocker is broken----"if it isn't broke" JMHO

I checked the part number and price at gmpartsdirect (for reference) before posting and it did not say it was discontinued (not that they could be wrong).

I don't think it a matter of being broke or not he's wanting to take out the crappy long piece that hangs down and put in a performance piece! besides who cares its his car and his money just help the guy out!!

As for my .02 I had the plug and never had any problems with it "falling out" when I put it in it was a little taller and stuck out into the air intake path so I had to grind it down to make it smooth with the natural path inside the elbow. Maybe they have fixed it. I recommend using a vortech or trick flow elbow myself they look nice, are smooth inside and cost about the same.
Here's the vortech.. http://store.summitracing.com/egnsea...alse&N=700+115

And the trick flow.. http://store.summitracing.com/egnsea...DS=1&N=700+115
