Alternator post nut - thread/size?

I need to go pick up a nut for the alternator post.. I dropped mine somewhere in the kmember

I want to pick it up on my way home.. anyone have the correct size for this bad boy? I looked it up in the GM parts diagram and couldn't find the size.. only what it is :/

I'm sure you're not on your way home anymore, but I'd stop by an Advance Auto or someplace and see if they can pull one from one of their LT1 alternators so you can see what size or maybe they'll give you a nut from one that is going back to the refurb places...I'd go out to my garage and pull the nut to check but its 30 degrees out there...

The nut for the post should be 15mm.
P.S. A magnetic pick-up tool is a handy tool.

He isn't referring to head size.

I have a 20lb magnetic pick-up tool It fell into the deep dark depths of the k-member and I could no longer find it.

Thanks dude.

We actually found a random nut that would work last night, and got the car fired up.

She goes out tonight for her first drive in three weeks

Hopefully the new springs fixed your high RPM miss, I know you are as sick of working on your car as me.

Don't feel bad, I have a bunch of various nuts, bolts, a stubby wrench, and a couple sockets that have fallen victim to the k-member.

Tubular K-member FTW, no more lost items and saves weight
