Rocker Studs (stock or ARP)

okay, last winter I did a CC503, 1.6 ProMags and PP heads with 3 angled valves blah blah.

I reused the factory rocker studs and think I should have used ARP studs...any opinions?

parts numbers also please if the studs are necessary.

I used my stock 3/8 rockers studs with my heads/cam LT1 for five years without a problem, even with a 605/622 lift cam for a couple of years. But recently for peace of mind switched to ARP 7/16" studs.

You need to tell us which size rockers (3/8, 7/16), before we can give you part numbers.

Are you running guide plates?
3/8 part number is 134-7101

sucks that you already have the ProMags.

the biggest gain in stablity isn't from going ARP over OEM (though ARP is the way to go... VERY nice studs)... it's going from 3/8" up to 7/16" studs.

the thicker studs require different ProMags though, so upgrading to ARP studs probably isn't worth the cost now. JMHO.

You could try to off load the used 3/8" Promags on ebay to offset the cost of new rockers and studs I guess... but it's more a search for durability, not hp. Depends what your goals are I guess.

I have guideplates under the stock rocker studs...

I have the 3/8 stem, I guess I messed up on that choice. With the Guideplates under the stockers, does that mess with the duration?

thanks

Nope, no effect on duration or lift.
