Underdrive pullys

Are they worth it. They are less than $80 for a set at Jegs. It says no loss of charging or cooling but more HP. Is it worth a 10th? Plus the billet alum looks good. Getting my header's installed this month and hoping to get into the 12's this spring with drag radials.

Very tiny gains, if you must get one then pick one up used cause the money is better spent elsewhere like 1.6 with roller rockers, good tune etc.
Is it worth a 10th in the quarter

If one was to use as a deciding factor for many mods using the $/HP one might conclude that the $ to pony may not be reasonable. However, one needs to consider the accumulative result and combination factors.

I have the March, 2-pulley system---I believed, at the time, that anything that would put less parasitic drag on the engine would translate into more of the power available to the ground.

Using the $/Hp formula, if you were to get 2 rwhp over all with your combination, you would be paying 40$ per pony. If a cam will get you 20 RWHP and it cost $1000.00 including parts and labor you would be paying $50.00 per pony.

Only you can make the decision whether the mod is worth it in terms of cost and power.

Personally, I have no complaints on my march system. It may all be in my head, but I thought I felt tad better throttle response out of the hole when I added the pulleys. Probably just my imagination. JMHO

You're not going to pick up a 10th. There's not much being turned by the serpentine belt. There's nowhere near the gain you would get on an engine with a belt-driven water pump.

On an old site where a WS-6 owner recorded his mods and the dyno results after each mod, he found that adding a hypertech under drive system gave him .07 hp and 5.1 lbs of torque. The average gain was 4.4 hp and 5.8 lbs tq. Don't know if this is correct or what results you would have, but food for though.

Thanks for the replies, I'll probably put that $80 towards sub frame connectors then.
