Mr. Gasket 5716 headgasket packaging

I bought a set from Autozone. Got home and they slid right out of the package. No problems whatsoever, so maybe they finally fixed the way they packaged them before.

I read a lot of people say a while back that they were shrink wrapped. Mine weren't. Just two gaskets kinda loosely packaged inside a plastic bag attached to the cardboard pack.

It appears they have resolved the problem.

much better design then they had before, where you had to buy 2 packs just to get 2 good gaskets...

I still question the quality of that gasket based on "feel"... I could be 100% wrong but I just didn't get that "quality" feel of it like I do with the FelPro or OEM.

I won't run anything from mr gasket again for the simple fact that they couldn't even get something as simple as packaging a gasket right.

These are .026" thick and I see Summit has them at $70 bucks for a pair.

They may come individually too for about $37 each.

Also, the Mahle/Clevite Victor Reinz LT1 head gasket is about $20 bucks each (same .026" thick as the Mr. Gasket). If you can find that gasket at a local parts store it may be worth looking at.

Called Mr. Gasket and they said it doesn't matter. I don't buy that because the sides are definitely different.
