rocker arm question

i am goin to a 1.6 rocker arm. i have been reading all your opinions on them but still not sure what would be best for my application

the lift on my cam will be .544/.554 with the 1.6 and i plan on goin with a bigger cam in the future. is it okay to use the self aligning or do i need the non self aligning. i was thinking of using the promags

I would go NSA, more stable at high RPM's.. Just make sure you have a good set of hardened pushrods and guideplates.

IMHO i would switch to NSA rockers w/ hardened pushrods and guidplate, gm guidplates. It gives you more room to grow into and are more stable than the stock SA rockers.

You probably are already aware that you must use LT1 specific guideplates; regular SBC guideplates do not have the correct spacing.

Correct, you need the GM guideplates or the Isky adjustable's.

On LE's recommendation I just installed Trickflow guideplates, and they aligned near perfect. I'm almost certain these are the standard 23* SBC guideplates.

I used the Trickflow plates myself. Installed them yesterday and they look great! Car runs like a top and the valves adjusted really easily.
