starting problems, miss under throttle

Lately ive been having some problems. Sometimes after I start the car it just dies. And also when im idling warm, it will sometimes rarely die, or stumble. Mty other problem is Ill have a random miss every now and then, and my ses light will come on, and then go off. Its been very hot and humid here lately, and my idle is set around 500 rpms which is kinda low. Anyone know what could be the problem could be, or do you think its the combination of the heat, and low rpms at idle?

Starting problems can be a couple things
1. spark
2. fuel
3. FPR

Spark could be causing both problems with starting and misses, possibly the dying too. Make sure there is decent spark, or that the plugs are not completely bad. Check the fuel pressure to make sure it doesn't drop, or can hold it. should be around 40-42 at idle, 50-ish at WOT. If the pump is going out it could cause the hard starting. FPR could only cause the hard starting, not the dying/stumble. If the vacuum tube from the FPR to the manifold is wet or smells like gas the FPR is bad.

Have you scanned it to see why the SES light is coming on? Might provide a clue to the problem. Stock programming for an A4 is 550rpm in gear, 650rpm in neutral. Is yours an A4?

check your wires closely thats most times the culprit. if not go thru the plugs.
