Question LT4 hotcam with stock timing set?

Ok I had my LT1 rebuilt by and engine shop and they put in the LT4 hotcam kit. They put in a new stock timing set. It has some slack in the chain, but I have heard that is usually normal for a stock timing set. My question is will I be ok using the stock timing set with the LT4 hotcam kit? I know there are alot of posts on here about timing chains but I am just a little confused about what I should do.

I am trying to save some money. I have read the best thing to do is to get a cloyes double roller or something similar, new timing cover, and a vented opti, and an electric water pump, but I just really dont want to spend that much money.

BTW my car is a 94 Z28.

A lot of folks under estimate the stock timing set...I still use a stock set and its been fine...I did put in a new stock chain in 2005 when we did some head work and changed cams, but that was only preventative maintainance...It hasn't broken or had any problems for 12 years...

I would throw a new chain on it. The new chain only is about $20 from good parts sources.
