Teflon (PTFE) oil additives

Hi All
Has anybody tried, on a LT1 engine, one of those Teflon additives to add to the oil in order to lower the engine friction?

Most of the readily available ones are scams, there are a few good ones out there none containing PTFE though.

If you search the Web you will find a press statement by 3M about how Teflon is not good for many of the things it is used for. They saw it coming when they began selling licensing rights. Not sure if it specifically mentions liquid lubrication but does go into how it has to be heated to over 600F to bond to anything. That means pretty much anything on a store shelf that contains it, is using it as marketing and is of no real value.
Believe the FTC judgement against Slick50 would be good reading on the subject too.

Lucas is perfect if you like foamy oil, best to skip it if you want oil to properly protect things.

I mean that to a person that is not expert in this matter it seems that everybody could be right and wrong at the same time because from one side there are claims from the manufacturers of those additives actually works and on the other side I find only the same article over and over stating that additives are really crap. None of them is actually linking any official source of their claims.

Just buy good oils and don't worry about addictives.

Are you staying up late tonight?
Yeah, that would be the idea, but I was only trying to get a better overview about them: if there is something unclear I get really curious... I can't help it

Try looking at pages 20-22 in this book:

I guess there is no way to read those 3 pages without buying the book, right?
