How do I tell if I have a Bad Head Gasket/Intake man. leak?

I got the water pump off to change the opti (car quit running) and im wondering if I should change the head gaskets or intake manifold(for its famous leak) Car has 116k miles.

Is there a way to check either of these at the present situation?

Thanks,

Joe

If you had the notorious intake leak, it would be pretty noticable as oil would be present at the rear of the manifold. As for bad head gaskets, you can usually get the warning signs if you notice there is a mix of coolant in the engine oil. Frankly, if it isn't broke, I would just leave it alone.
