orings on the opticoil shaft?

orings on the opticoil shaft?

im in the middel of putting on good used opti on my 1994 lt1 and read that the opticoil shaft has 2 orings.. is this true? what are they needed for? does any one know the part number? kinda odd the dont come in the timing cover gasket set!

I just did a cam swap and the little rubber o rings came with my timing cover gasket set.

really? cus i think 1 is for the water pump timing cover shaft. and the other oring is for the water pump shaft

CUS FELPRO ONLY GAVE ME 2 BLACK ORINGS

Ya I got 4 but I just reused the old ones.seems to be fine;but If you want new ones you could just take them off the shaft and take them to Auto zone and they should have some to match them.Their only like 25 cents.

just looked on both opti coil shafts and there are no o-rings..so im probley gonna go to the parts store and see what ones fit,,,,, maybe the nonvented optis didnt come with orings on the shaft? what are the orings ment for?

Ya mine is a vented opti.I have no Idea what they are for mabe to seal it in the hole.

There are no o-rings on a non-vented opti.
