Max lift on Crane Springs?

Does anyone know what the max lift these springs can take is?

Depends on the setup, you could run them crazy high if you are crazy. (???)

Anyways what are you thinking? I ran them on the 847, shimmed them because I was floating valves, then crushed a roller on a lifter, not collapsed but actually grenaded the roller tip.

Looks like .700", but I'm not as familiar with dual springs.

Did you have stock heads and had to shim for the GM847? I'm surprised, but the locators might be really thin. What was your final install height?

I honestly think it was just a bad lifter, but at min go with new stockers.

I think (been a while) that they were installed @ 1.76 and 1.74

Unless you have longer valves and plan on installing those at 1.80" or 1.85"
you will be running too much closed pressure. Assuming that you use a .040"
to .060" shim/locator, the closed pressure will be in the 157-169 lb range with
stock valves. This us just my $.02. You usually can't go wrong with the springs
specified on the cam card.
