Fastest Bolt on LT1?

What's the fastest you've heard of/done?

I couldn't find anything on the search about it.

You're more likely to find the fastest one if you used the term "bolt off" in lieu of "bolt on" since bolt on can include a bunch of crap, whereas "bolt off" would refer to weight and drag reduction.JMHO

I understand that, but you can make a completely stock LT1 run 11s if you strip out enough.

I'm only interested in street trim ability!!

Fastest bolt on Impala is 12.3 with some weight reduction but still easily heavier than f-bodies. The 4.88s suck on the street though I guess.
Point being full weight bolton f-body record should easily be down in the low 12s.

A stock lt1 would never run 11's unless you had it down to around 2300lbs. Which is impossible, why are you so concerned with a stock trim car?

I dont know about that... super street had an article on this a couple of years ago

I guy mailed them that he had a K&n filter on his car (a maxima), an aerodynamic body kit, and bigger/wider wheels/tires and a friend of his, with the exact same car was faster than him. Of course he sent a picture of his car with 20's and a fugly body kit. He said he couldn't make sense of why the car wasn't faster than his buddy's stock one, and if he could get some free parts. Super street said of course they would make his car faster. They proceeded to rip EVERYTHING out of his car, as in they cut off the roof, doors, body panels. It was pretty much a frame sitting on a drivetrain/engine with no seats (not even a driver) and they took the 20's off and put 15's on it. His 1/4 time went from 16's to 12's. I'm sure if someone went to this extreme with an lt1 car it might his 11's......

edit: sorry... not 12's... 14.3 from a 16.3.... it's been awhile since I've read the article. Thanks ray!

I am in street trim and not a lot of weight reduction yet and am trying t get to this title myself one day...

I just got back from my latest round of testing at the track and got a new personal best of 12.601 @ 109.51 with 1.795 60' that felt like it was spinning badly...

The mods are in the sig, plus I added 3.73 gears and have done some more tweeking...
