Intermittant belt squeal at 2000 rpm?

When I get on the gas from an idle at about 2k RPM it starts to squeal and sounds exactly like power steering low on fluid, but t topped off fluid the other night and checked to make sure it was still in there.
What else could it be?
Could just be a squealing belt.

how can I tell if I need to replace the belt? when it squeals? =P
this is actually poretty annoying, it shouldn't make this much noise. I've had the car for 2 weeks and it has no radio and this noise is present at least 50% of the time.

I can't pop the hood and get on the gas to see what it is since I cant be on the gas and under the hood at the same time.
I guess I'll need to call a bro to figure this out.

Any ideas or suggestions

thanks
Evan

You can get on the gas... just take a screw driver and use it to push down on the throttle body tab where it connects to the throttle cable (age old trick)

Look right underneath the black throttlebody cable cover and you'll see it.

How old is your belt? you can check your pulley tensioner... that can cause that... sometimes the altinator can cause that if the pulley isn't on tight enough... just some places to start.

Probably around 50 bucks, give or take, not sure off hand.

$24 at Kragen/Shucks, picked it up this afternoon.
I'll let you know if it's a fix later.
