what do i do now??
hello to all,
I noticed today that my 97 z28 is running without the temp sensor... i opened the hood and the green wire trhat attaches to the sensor head has been "burned" off.. what do i do?? my car was never running hot but im sure with my luck itll over heat and ill never know it..

out of curiousity will my "check gauges" light come on if my car over heats, even though the gauge isnt actually working??

Which coolant temp sensor are you talking about - the single wire sensor in the driver's side head (gauge only) or the two-wire sensor in the water pump housing (PCM feed)?
If its the one for the gauge, splice the wire. If the connector is damaged, get a new "pigtail".... a new connector with a length of wire attached to it. The "Check Gauges" light is tied into the coolant gauge, not the PCM.
