heads,cam,daily driver?

i picked up a 96z m6 about 2 months ago and am looking to tear into it but i dont want to make the same mistake i made in the past and turn my dd into a street monster that has to be worked on alot.my question is,can the stock lt1 heads be ported to a 195cc runner and if so i want a cam thats street friendly.i was thinking about the lt4 hotcam but every time i bring up this cam people say there are better cams than that.my objective is to have a dd that runs low 12's.no spray!n/a.

Yes, you can get the stock heads ported and they work very well for a dd. You might try to find some used in the for sale section or send yours off to get ported at either www.eportworks.com or www.advancedinduction.com. They can both also set you up with a cam for exactly what you want.

depends on the heads, cam, and how much tuning...not to mention labor costs if you are paying someone else to do it. Need more specifics as to what price range you are looking for. I spent around 6k for my 383 heads, cam, port, tune...and I hear thats a steal lol.

a nice head and cam combo will run from ~$1200 up to how ever much you want to spend. and about 500 for a good dyno tune or 200 for a mail order tune. check out www.eportworks.com for some really nice H/C combos at good prices that will more than meet your needs.
