help oil pressure question

i got a 94 lt1 car .at a idal how low of oil pressure is to low????.thanks

What's it at? Should be 15-20 at hot idle.

20 hot. and whats is the best oil 2 use.thanks

Best results I've heard come from 0w-30 Castrol European Formula synthetic. I use that in the winter and Mobil 1 10-30 in the summer.

You'll get plenty of different opinions here.

Less than 20 psi at hot idle may be even more common.

The GM specs for the engine say that anything above 6psi at idle is acceptable.

wow mine never goes below 40, but then agian it only has 3000 miles

You may have a stoppage in the system somewhere, or just really tight bearings.

Mine is around 20 psi at hot idle and around 45psi when cold.I use 5W 30 oil and my car has the mileage in my signature.

yep, mine has always sat at around 20 at idle and jumps to 40-45 when accelerating
