high mileage questions!? advice plz

so my 94 z28 has 175000 miles on it, im sure it needs to be rebuilt, but dont have the money for that, i tuned it up and it runs decent. would it be a good idea to plug the EGR and maybe plug the things on the exhaust manifold that look ugly, because it doesnt have the cat anymore, plus take off the air pump, what else should i do? and could i have reasons why or why not to do so

You don't stand much to gain from hacking off the emissions equipment other then cleaning up the engine bay. If that is your goal, then go for it. You mention your car is running decent, is there a driveability issue? If so, I would investigate and fix that before even attempting any modifications.

I've heard of Bosch plugs being problematic, that could be the result of your low rpm miss. I would stick with some Delcos or NGKs.
