Question 294hp/310lb rwhp and tq dyno??

294hp/310lb rwhp and tq on a dyno, these are the numbers that my 97 m6 put down the rear wheels today. i was kinda dissapointed i thought that i was going to break atleast 300hp. Any body think that this is a wierd output for the mods that i have. the techs at the dyno shop said that i could benifit by getting some long tubes and a cut out cat back system. my signature has a list of all my mods, im running a stock 3" system that came on my 97SS and running some shorty bbk headers. any one have any recommendations on what i could do to get my numbers up and whether or not this is about right for what i have done so far.

Ok what kind of dyno was it? Remember mustang dyno's will be lower than a dynojet. Lastly, go for longtubes! Those short headers I bet a hurting a fair bit.

So you have a Hotcam in there? I would say your numbers are a tad low if that is the case.

I'd say a bit low. I got 20hp on you and I don't have shorties yet. perhaps the tune holding you back?

Hotcam + RR + tune + no other mods is typically higher than that.

For instance:

So I'd say you have some missing HP.

Yea that does sound low especially for what you have done. Did you happen to get an A/F ratio graph with your dyno??

The stock catback is choking it a little. Most people see at least 10 hp with a decent catback..more on a slightly modded car.

Numbers Low

I'm not sure whats up but I agree the numbers are low for a hotcam. I have
a smaller cam, no headers, and 315s. I would think you should be in the
325 hp range.

On stock tune and without 3.73's and CAI my auto with a 3200 stall put down 295 on a dynojet.

What rpm did it peak at? Are your plugs and wires in good shape? What kind of fuel were you using, What were the conditions or were those numbers corrected? Yes, the numbers are low and if you want help figuring out why details are needed. If you could scan and post the dyno graphs, that would also be a big help. Besdies plugs and wires, the commonest reason for low numbers is knock retard.

Question dyno sheet for 294hp 310lb tq??

here's the dyno sheet that was requested, the increase looks kinda shay from 4k and up, what could that be from, i have a rebuilt opti in there and stock wires with my msd could that be it. the air fuel ration is kinda hard to read but does it look lean?
