Is this a good cam for my setup??? I have a 6'' 381 with ported heads( flow like le3 heads). I have all the bolt ons and i will be spraying. What exactly are the specs on the 847??? I was going to get a le4 cam but now loyd will not sell me 1 by it self. Thanks for the help.

It's not too big, especially for a larger than stock cube engine. http://web.camaross.com/forums/showt...ht=gm847+specs

Cam will depend on a lot more than your displacement. Check your compression as well. You can try to call Comp about a cam, but I'd recommend Bret Bauer or Allan at Futral to pick one out for you.

so far i have had experiance with the cc 306 the cc503 hotcam and the 847
byfar my fav is the 847 you do notice(on a stock cube motor) a lack of low end on a 6speed but it pulls extreamly hard from 3 grand on up it was extremely fun to drive with that cam
the minimum i would go on your motor is a cc306 or similar sized on a stock cube auto it drives near stock (IMO) with a decent stall no noticable cam surge and real nice power all over

depends on the tune. mine doesn't surge unless it's below 1500rpm.
