motor swap with supposid cam should i have car tuned
I have a 95 z28 i put a diffrent motor in the car and supposable it has a cam in it but not any real information on what it is or anything like that. The car dosent run bad but at low rpms it has a little lag but once over 2000 to 2500 it has all sorts of pull. I have a crankshaft sensor code coming up but put in a new sensor and it still reads. Someone said that i should take the car and have it professionally dino tuned what do you think
It certainly couldn't hurt anything...The tuner could load the current tune and see what it looks like...It would obviously help to know more about the cam, etc in the motor, but it may be worth a call to Bryan Herter at PCMforless...

Unless it's a slightly larger than stock cam, you'd be able to hear it. If you can't hear it loping, then most likely it's not big enough to cause it to be sluggish under 2500 rpm. You need to get the SES light taken care of before you take it to get it dyno tuned. You may want to do some probing around with a multi-meter to see what's wrong with the car. I, unfortunately, don't have any specs for what you should see at the crank sensor. Someone else can chime in and help with that.

Why not use the "signature" field, and enter the basic data about your car.... year, model, tranny and any major mods. That way people will have an easier time helping you, and you won't have to type anything extra when you are tired.
