Put motor in and no electric fans and crank shaft sensor code

I just put a motor in my 96 Z28 and the only problems i am having are my electric fans are not kicking on not even when the air is on but the fan motors are good i tested them direct. I also am throwing a crank shaft sensor code and i put a new sensor in and this did not fix the problem. The car runs a little sluggish at low rpm after it is warm I could this be because of the ckp code or should i look at othor options and what options would they be.Any help would be greatly app. thanks

How could the car be running at all? Doesn't it use the crank sensor to know when to fire the plugs? Either way, you need to check voltage, resistance, and continuity to the fans and crank sensor. Use a multi-meter and try to track the problem down. I know shoebox has some electrical information on his site: http://shbox.com/1/4th_gen_tech1.html . If you can't find the values you need, then ask back and some of the electrical guys can help.

No... the OBD-II CKP is just there for misfire detection. The Opti low res pulse is still used as the reference signal for cam position. Should run fine without a CKP... just like a 93-95.

Exactly which CKP code are you getting?

Did you check your fan relays and the fusible link?

I have got p0335 crankshaft position sensor circuit malfunction and po336 crankshaft postition sensor circuit range or porformance prob. On the fans it says in the repair manual to check for power at diffrent terminals at the relay with key off and the othor terminals with key on I have power at diffrent terminals with the key off then i am suppost to and vice versa and i checksed the relays the way the book says and if that is right it is showing all relays are bad. does this make any sence to anyone

Double check the wiring harnesses. Really easy to damage a harness installing an engine.
