Timing Chain - CC306 - Opti Conversion

I'm getting pretty close to putting a CC306 in the Z28 and I had a few questions about timing chains. I have a vented opti conversion kit, the cover, opti, harness, vent tubes, etc. I was planning on running a Cloyes True Double Roller set. But was wondering if the Cloyes and a vented opti would work if I bought a CC306 that was in a 94. From my research I think that the 94 Cam would need to have the front hole machined larger and the dowel pin made longer. At first I thought just the dowel pin needed changed which would be easy, but how easy is it to machine the larger whole in the front. Anyone have experience with this?

I would think the aftermarket cam would already be drilled, probably all would be drilled..
Why not ask the seller, or try to get a pic and see?
Not having one I can't say for sure..

I would also think that the cores for the Comp LT1 cams would all be the same (drilled large enough for the vented opti).

First, thanks alot shoebox and Mtrhds94Z for making that point. Thats what I was wondering, it would make sense that they are all the same and you only adjust the dowel pin for your application. But I was looking at the pictures on the opti swap page " http://para.noid.org/~muttvette/opti.html " not thinking that they were probably stock cores.

With this said, is there a standard size dowel pin I can order to replace the 94 length one in the CC306 or can I just pull it out to the length necessary? I work for a company I can order dowel pins through, or should I get one from Comp or GM?

Thanks again guys.
