Will this fit my LT1

When I put my cam in I want to change the timing chain also. I have a brand new one that I have never used but I am not sure if it will work in an LT1. I don't know that manufacturer but it is stamped "made in USA" on it. Click here

So, do you intend to run an electric water pump and convert to a vented opti? You will if you use that timing set (assuming this is for your 1994).

I hate it when this happens. One person says it will work and one says that it won't! I guess the only way to find out for sure is try it

Re: Will this fit my LT1

shoebox is 100 percent right! Also, if you convert to 95 up opti you'll need a longer dowell pin on the cam plus a new front cover for that 95 opti and vent lines added to the mix.....Why....I did this conversion to my 94 7 years ago, along with my stroker kit....This is also assuming that the vented opti will actually fit into the stock cam hole...I replaced my cam for 95 up so, I never checked the stock one...

Oops, almost forgot you'll also need a new plug that goes in to the 95 up opti...the 94 looks the same but is to short to contact the pins....Otherwords this will be the most costly replacement for a timing chain on a stock engine....You could just replace it with a stock "from factory, LT1 94 chevy timing gears" or not at all.....

I was just reading summits years it fits... says it will fit a 94... but they always skip the "install" details.

As you can see by this picture it doesn't look like the cam will work either with the newer opti.
