Headers dont look like they are sealing

I just put on pacesetter shorties but to me it looks like theres a gap against the head. Like they are not sealed up good. I can't run it yet cuz motor is not altogther yet just curious if anyone has had this problem or if it just looks like it aint sealed but is. I used copper D port gaskets if that matters.

copper gaskets are tought to make seal right, ie not very forgiving

could also be a warped or bent flange, put it against a straight edge to check

Change the gaskets while you can! I had copper header gaskets and they leaked in the first 2 weeks (bolts did not back out either) I changed to the paper ones nobody likes and they work far better.

I used earls dead seal after I couldnt get paper, copper, or felpro/mr.gaskets to work. They're aluminum, with silicone/graphite inserts that are seperate, that seal around the ports. beautiful pieces, expensive, but no leaks. they're awesome!

I think I figured it out. The headers oval ports had a little extra material so they were thicker. I think that is why the flange looks like its pulled away.
