new racetronix fuel pump install problem

Well I got it all put togeather and had to splice a couple of the wires togeather to connect them. put it in the tank and now my gas guage went all the way full when there is barely a 1/8 of a tank . Also I primed it a few times started her up and now it acts like it isnt getting enough fuel. (might be due to not much in the tank. Is there something I did wrong ? I am going to get a couple gallons of gas and see if that helps. PLEASE help me if you have any ideas ! thanks Anthony

You did something wrong then.

With the Racetronix harness, you shouldn't need to cut, strip, crimp, or splice anything at all.

Do you have gas in the tank?

Didn't get the wiring harness just the pump kit. Put a couple of gallons of gas in and she's running a lot better, but the gas gauge is still reading overfull. What should I do?

Exclamation

car runs good gas gauge reads way overfull and only about 3 gallons of gas in there took out the fuel pump and noticed that the float rod was coming out of its plastic holder so I wire-tied it and replaced. gas gauge still reading overfull. With the racetronix kit I didn't get any instructions but I found some vague instructions online for a stock fuel pump. I had to cut and splice the black ground and white power wires. Wondering if this will mess up the ohm readings sent to the gauge. Getting dark, please help.

I just got the Racetronix pump kit as well, no splicing or cutting of wires was involved from what I remember. I would say that you did something wrong.
