Is the replacement part of the cam swap easier than the removal?

Is the replacement part of the cam swap easier than the removal?

I would think so...

Hopefully everything bolts back up smoothly My back is starting to hurt, lol

LOL...i hope so too. My cam should get here tomorrow and as soon as it does, everything is going back in. I have the car taken apart ready for the cam.

I would say harder as far as installing the cam because you have to be super gentle when putting it in to make sure you don't knick the bearings. Pulling out the old one you can just support it with your hand but the new, beacause of the lube, your just using those 6" bolts to guide them in. I hated it. Just kept thinking....."there's another knick" lol

lol, yeah I'll be super careful with that part



although I've heard that you don't have to use cam lube, just some regular oil on the cam before you put it in Comp didn't send me any cam lube with the cam

It's not the install that's hard. It's finding the bolts you misplaced that's the pain.

Yes, mine also came without cam lube. I was also wondering about this.

Oil should be fine. We used oil on my friend's cam when putting it into his 302 last weekend. Just make sure to use a lot of oil/lube.
