Where to begin
When planning a build up, do you:
1. Choose a cam and match the heads to the cam, or
2. Port the heads then match the cam to the heads?

I believe the ideal process would be to do your heads first, either PP the stockers or whatever. You can install any cam you desire based on your proposed driving/use.
If you do the cam first, you might have to have the heads removed anyway to have the spring seats modified if you are going big.
Breathing is the first thing you need to consider. That is your intake, heads and exhaust. The cam is what controls the amount of Air/fuel mixture entering the comb chamer at any given time. Once you get the kind of flow numbers and velocities that you want with your heads and exhaust system, you can select an off-the-shelf cam or custom cam designed with your flow and intended driving in mind.

have the heads done first if your matching a cam to them, If you say you want this Flow at this rpm n stuff how do you know the builder will get that PERFECT, Heads first then find a cam that compliments where the heads flow best

It seems i may have been misunderstood by some. I fully indtend to do the job (heads and cam) all at once. Question was do you base how your heads are ported on the cam you choose (cam then heads) or do you choose your cam on how your heads flow (heads then cam)?
