installed my MACs today....!%%# sucked

Finally did my very first header install....what a #@^&^$ horrible experience....nothing but aching body, bloody knuckes and total drain of energy. Everything went smoothly i guess, no major things to deal with...just an PITA taking the old manifolds off...those things suck. everything seems to be on ok, there is a slight leak on the driver side, and a big one where the cat meets the y-pipe because i have to get it welded tomorrow so its just two peices of metal with alot of space between them...but other than that, i could definetly feel a power difference on the way home and cant wait to hear it without a huge leak...thought id share...now time to sleep

After I completed my LT install I walked away from the car and did not even look at it for a solid week, I still had to reinstall the front suspension and put the tranny back in but after that header install I had to take a break from the car.
When you look back on it you always say aww it wasn,t that bad, but while your in the middle of it its your very own personal hell.

the are shorties/midlegths...but not legal. Longtubes move the CAT which is an automatic failure for the visual, but with the MACS, u can use a carb number for some legal headers and the smog guys will never know...i just smogged 2 days ago, so im good for awhile.

Cool man, what part of Sac are u from? Im in the Elk Grove area right now.

If you think Macs are hard dont even think about installing Hooker LT's...Macs are one of the best headers in my opinion..easy plug access and they are easy to install..only downfall is they are 1 5/8" primaries..
