rebuilt alternator?? least expensive?

i have done a search and didn't find what i needed.
my question is how reliable are rebuilt alternators, where is the cheapest place? so far autozone seems to be the cheapes but according to their website they don't carry the remanufactured alt.
thanks.

If you want to save money have a local rebuild shop do it. I paid 35 bucks to have mine rebuilt and if you don't have the higher amp alt. they can upgrade it cheap. And most of the time they last longer than the advance or autozone ones.

ACDelco remanufactured is a good choice. You can probably get one for around $140 w/core. Are you sure you need one? I just recently had my charging system checked out and the stock alternator is still running strong after 101,XXX miles.
